Secure Internet, Voice and Connectivity
The triple layered security policy on our network and sold devices has proven efficacy throughout our decade of operation.
Firewalls are in place as the first layer of defence. Acting as filter which checks the packet headers and allows access to the network based on this assessment. If any items in the header do not meet our security requirements, the traffic may not enter our network.
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are then in place to constantly monitor full packets, headers and payloads, assessing the behaviour of the traffic and sending detailed reports on such activity when questionable events are identified. The reports enable fast detection of security breaches or problematic protocols so that appropriate action is taken timeously. Often the resultant action from the reports will be updates to the security policy on which the network is directed.
Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) enforce the security policy should any risks be identified via the IDS or packet inspection from the IPS itself. The IPS has the instruction to drop packets, block traffic or establish new connections automatically. This minimizes the time any existing malicious events have to act or spread.
